Real death panels discovered by California nurses

Turns out Sarah Palin's instincts are right, but just misplaced. In the first half of this year, 1 in 5 insurance claims were denied, representing a hideous mix of rationing and death panels.

But this wasn't the result of a tortuous governemnt beaurocracy; it was the findings of the California Nurses Association (CNA) study of private health insurance plans. PacifiCare and Cigna clocked in with 40% denials and 33% respectively.

Presumably these denials came after honest consumers dutifully paid their monthly premiums and the CEOs of these companies took home 11 figure salaries.

But still, I think we should continue to protect the 'free market' in health insurance.
